The American Idol wannabe first caught my attention - after he was booted out of American Idol. I don't listen to that show anymore. Haven't listened since the season with Fantasia. Don't even ask me her last name. I would be hard pressed to name any of the contestant in any year after that - except for Sanjaya.
It's just that I discovered Sanjaya on some random Youtube hunt or something, and proceeded to inject myself with an overdose of Sanjaya - basically, everything I had missed out about Sanjaya - all the controversies and bad signing, in the span of a few hours!
It was fun. That's how Youtube works. It allows you to get up to speed on something you had totally ignored and let you become an instant expert on a topic. Now I would not call myself a Sanjaya expert. Far from it.
He really annoys me. But his annoyance is like making chalk shriek on a black board while the sound annoys you. But you can't help it and you still do it just for the heck of it.
That's Sanjaya to me!
Well, he's back with a new commercial for an insurance company. When I think of it, the real reason people still remember Sanjaya, whom many said changed hair style continuously, is because of that Mohawk hair cut. That's all there is to it.
I wonder if anyone ever made the link between the Indian character in American Dreamz and Sanjaya. Seems like reality was catching up with fiction on that one!
